All we can do is wait

With the win over Pacific, Oregon State has put its fate into the hands of the NCAA Selection Committee. Mike Parker said that the beginning of the day the Beavers were on a list of twelve teams the Selection Committee would be trying to fit into seven spots. That's decent odds, considering the Beavers won today and teams like Kansas State lost.

Speaking of Kansas State, their loss to Texas was one of the highlights of the day from a Beaver perspective. Kansas State was the #7 seed in that tournament, and at 29-28 overall, a win over Texas would have put them into the tournament with an automatic bid. Instead, Texas will get the automatic bid instead of an at-large bid.

Here's a look at all of this year's automatic qualifiers:

And, here are the host teams for the regionals, as announced by the committee:

  • Arizona State
  • Cal State Fullerton
  • Coastal Carolina
  • Florida State
  • Georgia
  • Long Beach State (woah!)
  • Louisiana State
  • Miami
  • Michigan
  • NC State
  • Nebraska
  • North Carolina
  • Oklahoma State
  • Rice
  • Stanford
  • Texas A&M

All Oregon State can do now is hope that the Beavers will be heading to one of those schools to play in their fourth straight NCAA Regional.

GO BEAVERS!
