OSU vs. Pacific Game 3, Regular Season Finale Open Thread
It's also Senior Day. More on that after the game.
This is a must win for the Beavers... we've been saying that all weekend.
The Starters will appear here shortly.

Leadoff walk = not good
But Peavey’s battled back and has two outs with a runner at second

Got out of it
Seemed to be not too much an issue (the leadoff walk), let’s get the bats going.
By the way, hope my follow up post about the canceled games made more sense. Think I made it too confusing about what I was thinking, sorry.
-RVM
Yeah, I understand.
The reason I think those games somewhat hurt us is because I’m pretty sure they were all against beatable teams. While wins have been harder to come by this season than in years past, it seems like four extra games would have helped our record. I know one of the cancelled games was against Portland, but I’m not sure about the others. But who knows.

Bottom 1: Robertson, Wallace, Ortiz

Ortiz hits it hard to 3B, the ball goes off his glove, and the shortstop throws him out
Wow… crazy play. Quick first inning for the Beavers.

And I didn't even get to watch it.
Oh well… 9:30 tomorrow ESPN2! That’ll be on TV!

Kind of funny
Here’s how the Game Tracker listed the play: Play: Ortiz, R. out at first 3b to ss to 1b (0-0).
-RVM
Yup. Are you listening on the radio too?
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 1:24 PM PDT up reply actions
No
I can’t get it here. Very weird schedule of broadcasts here, basically get one game of a series on the radio who carries the games, guess they are pushing the subscription.
-RVM
That stinks... it seems like you should be able to get the game somehow
But KUIK internet streaming seems to suck.
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 1:31 PM PDT up reply actions
Hmm
Tried it but yes not a great stream but finally got it and it is some other game on, high school something I think.
Thanks though.
-RVM
Hopefully the radio stations will give OSU more respect next year.
I know KPAM is improving their signal and such, but I don’t know if they will cover OSU baseball. I know they cover basketball and football, but we have KUIK for baseball. And after 8:30 p.m., all you can hear are Mariachi bands.

Amazing catch by Robertson in CF.
That was incredible. Robertson was running straight back to the wall and made a great over the shoulder catch. And a great throw to keep the runner at first.

You're killing me
I miss the TV coverage! Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t that great of a game to see yesterday (as compared to the Arizona game FSN had) but at the least I could see it!
-RVM
Yeah, it makes a big difference
Even though the quality is nothing like what you get on TV, at least you feel like you’re in the ballpark.

Wow, this game is a defensive spectacle.
It was Drew George in the first inning, then Daniel Robertson, now Ammon throws a strike to get the runner at second base. Two down.

Another quick inning for Pacific
That’s two 1-2-3 innings for the Beaver offense.

Nothing has been easy for Peavey today.

Drew George doubles.
That’s a good omen. Lonnie will likely bunt here….
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 1:50 PM PDT reply actions
He does.
Lonnie gets the bunt down the first base line, DG moves to third.

Easy ground ball to short, Beavers leave George at third.
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 1:53 PM PDT reply actions
Yep
Lead off double and get him to third, sigh.
At least the Beavs are putting the ball in play (but so is Pacific).
-RVM
Pacific has left 3 in scoring position...
We’ve left one.

by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 1:56 PM PDT up reply actions
Wow... the first pitch of the inning is ripped into the OSU dugout...
Everybody’s okay. McKeever pops out to Lonnie in shallow right.

Strike 3
Quickly two down. Maybe Peavey will get out of this frame without any trouble.

Strike 3 called, inning over!
Great work by Peavey to keep getting himself out of these jams. We’re still scoreless through four and a half.

Peavey's done... Sitton will come into the game
Great job by Peavey to keep runners from scoring in every inning that he got into trouble in.
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 2:38 PM PDT reply actions
And Sitton...
gets them out of yet another jam.
Do I even need to repeat we need some runs now.
-RVM
Triple for Wallace, great call by Coach Bailey to waive him to third.
Again, we have a runner on third with less than two outs.

Ground ball into left field, Wallace will score!
--JB--

Triple!
This time it is Wallace! I was just predicting the future earlier!
Yep, you are so correct again runner on third, we need to get him in.
-RVM
It was deep to the power alley over the 365 sign.
Beavers now up 2-0.

What is up with the 3b kiss of death?
Both teams leaving them out there just sitting 90 feet away! How many is that for the Beavs today?
-RVM
3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th innings
that makes four times.

by Jake Bertalotto on May 25, 2008 3:09 PM PDT up reply actions
MP just said that the Beavers are one of 12 teams being considered for 7 spots in the tourney.

But hey, I have the luxury to think about it all and the Beavs are the ones still playing! :)
-RVM
Lol
It was just my excuse to hope that MP would rattle off a list during the game.
I don’t know where I could find out the list, but I’ll work on it.

It will be 8-9-1 for Pacific in the top of the ninth. Let’s go Rhoderick!

Tommasini to Wong, almost made it a double play.
It was a soft ball to John…. not hit hard enough to give Joey a chance to turn two. Oh well. One out, one on.
