Just seems to be falling apart all at once
We seem to have lost the pitching touch, the hitting touch, and fielding touch. Still some game left I guess and Osich is pitching well so far. But almost seems as if the team is tired and lost too much focus overall.
Hope they prove me wrong…

yes and you have to give them a lot of credit
for to keep it jacked up at such a high level is a lot to ask of these young men year in and year out. Hate to “look ahead” but maybe it is good to have a reality shot and a bit of a break. Lots of young talent on the team and even if we are losing some quality seniors we have much to look forward to.

you're right, i like our chances next year
Stutes is gone, but Reyes and many, many young freshmen pitchers return. Wong is back, Tommassini is a year older, same with Nash, Ortiz, and others. Still, some key losses like Lennerton, Hopkins, Robertson, Lechelt, George…

Totally agree
I really think the young pitcher core will be very strong. Tommassini seems to be a very good fielder, but had offensive problems so hope he can get that going with experience. Ortiz should emerge as a leader. But those names for the losses, those names…sigh…

Tommassini is a pesky hitter
I think he is more of a Kunda type player. Good glove, not as good of a bat. The Beavers needed as much offense as possible this year, so Lechelt has been getting the time as of late. Bailey was talking to MP on the pregame show about how the coaches are still trying to find a leader/ lead the team themselves. It shouldn’t be that way at this point of the season.

That makes a lot of sense about the leader
Never really seemed to be one person who the team could rally around. Wong sort-of shows it in the field, but not quite as much as Barney yet. And on offensive Ortiz had moments but again nothing regular. A little surprising non of the seniors did, I wonder if maybe Stutes was hoped to be and he never really got it going either, but that complete game was a gem.

Yeah
Bailey’s quote was something along the lines of “we’ve talked to guys to try and motivate them to step up during the year… but nothing has happened”.
Yeah, I think the problem is that the players are getting down on themselves which isn’t making them strong leaders. Barney was a guy you could always count on to deliver at the plate and at short. And his leadership was always there.

Starr
In now, yikes just trying to find some spark somewhere.

Yes it is 9-0
But Starr is hanging tough, not letting them get anything going even with them getting some hits on him. Hope he can keep it going, would be a good bit of experience for him.

JB if you still around
That was a nice post about Bernard and Jackson. Too bad about Bernard lots of possible talent there, on the physical wonder if it was still lingering injuries.
Jackson should be very fun to follow, do wish he was playing on a non-turf field though for not sure how good that has been on his knee over the years. So many Beavers to follow in the NFL next year, should be very fun.

Bernard seems to be following in Simonton's footsteps
Monster college career but can’t carry it over to the NFL. Hopefully he can make it north of the border or in another endeavor.
Yes, we’ve been blessed with pros like Jackson, Housh, Chad Johnson, Matt Moore, Derek Anderson, Jacoby Ellsbury, and many others that aren’t coming to mind at the moment. Can’t wait for the fall to watch the NFL guys as well as the current Beavs play.
Thanks for hanging around, RVM. I can barely keep the eyelids open at this point… it’s been a long day. I’ll wrap this game up in the morning. Currently 9-0 in the top of the eighth.
