US Marine Dustin Canham Dies in a non-hostile accident overseas

We are saddened to learn that Mitch Canham's brother, Dustin, has passed away while in service in Dijbouti, Africa. From KOIN.com:

PORTLAND (AP) - Lance Cpl. Dustin L. Canham (pictured, far right) has died in what the Department of Defense called a "non-hostile incident" in Djibouti, a country in eastern Africa.

Canham, 21, died on Sunday, the Department of Defense said. He was from Lake Stevens, Wash., and was the younger brother of former Oregon State baseball player Mitch Canham.

Canham (pictured, right) was assigned to the Marine Forces Reserve's 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group. The battalion is based in Portland.

The Department of Defense said the death was under investigation. Further details were not available.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Canham family.

Our deepest condolences
Regardless of how it happened or where the loss of any life at a young age is a tragedy.

As a former Navy Corpsman myself I have a special bond with the Marines having served with them during my first tour of duty.

our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and fellow alums.
