Open Thread: USC at UCLA
With Pitt downing UConn earlier this morning, it looks like it will be the Panthers who represent the Big East in El Paso on Dec. 31.
Pittsburgh's opponent, likely the Beavers, will be officially decided after USC and UCLA meet in the Rose Bowl later this afternoon. If USC wins, they'll be making a return trip to Pasedena on Jan. 1. If UCLA shocks the nation and defeats the Trojans (it has happened before...) the Beavers will slide into the Rose Bowl, throwing a wrench into the Pac-10 bowl situation.
Head over to Bruins Nation (UCLA) or Conquest Chronicles (USC) for coverage of the game.
I'm off to Reser for the OSAA State Championship football games... it will be exciting to see OSU recruits John Braun (West Albany) and Jack Lomax and Michael Hatfield (Lake Oswego) as well as Jordan Poyer (Astoria), who has expressed interest in the Beavers.
