Todd Van Horne, the creative director for Sport and Innovation for Nike Apparel, has been closely involved in the design process of UO uniforms over the past 10 years. He said the six baseball uniforms represent "the art, the science and the soul."

"The early math on it is 146 different combinations," said Joe Giansante, UO senior associate athletic director.

That 'O' one is disgusting

verdict is still out on the fight song pin stripes

Woof

Thought you were kidding about the fight song/stripes...

…but no, you were not kidding.

Oh my.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I want some pin-striped pants for work that actually just say “I hate my job I hate my job I hate my job I hate my job I hate my job…” that way when people in my office ask me how I’m doing I can give them the crazy eye and say, “These aren’t pinstripes lady! Take a closer look!” and storm out.

The pin stripes with gray undershirt are alright.

I don’t know, it’s hard to judge what they really look like when your eyes keep focusing on that big yellow zero.

Riiiiiiiiiii-iii--i-i-i-i-ight......

Only because they signed 35 players to fill out a full roster and everyone else in the country only signs 10-13 per year.

These guys will struggle to play .500 baseball, even with their pretty good coach.

Roses are Orange.

by CV3000 on Nov 6, 2008 3:44 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yep

Probably right, especially given it will be their first year playing as a team. It might even be worse than what you predict. However, it will be fun to have baseball back regardless. If it takes a few years to field a competitive team, that’s ok. The high level recruits coming in is a great way to start the program, even if the numbers might be misleading as you say.

Welcome to baseball recruiting Duck fans, you have much to learn

The better your recruiting class, the worse it generally ends up being. If you sign a top 5-10 recruiting class, most of the guys will never be seen in those unis. They will make the jump to the MLB. It’s been something that OSU has been dealing with the last couple of years with the success we have had.

so your saying that you shouldnt go out and get the best players

by Duck4Lif3 on Nov 7, 2008 3:18 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

No you just can't get too excited about a top recruiting class

Until the MLB draft is over. It’s different then getting excited about a top recruiting class in football or basketball. Obviously the goal should be to get the best players

It's not even like signing Carmelo Anthony or OJ Mayo or Michael Beasley in hoops...

It’s like signing LeBron James or Kevin Garnett out of high school….pretty exciting…until they’re playing in the NBA.

Pretty sure OSU had 4 first round draft picks in baseball last year, 2 from the 2007 team and 2 from the 2007 recruiting class.

Obviously, the players uo signed aren’t of the same caliber where they’ll be first round draft picks out of high school, but you get the idea.b

Quizz is way better!

If your gonna talk smack about the Beavers come up with something better than a running back. Blount may have 86 points but is he a semifinalist for the Doak Walker award. I think not!

by jaycb324011 on Nov 12, 2008 10:47 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

uh, I didn’t say anything about the Beavers or Quizz. I said Blount was leading the conference in points and made the claim that every time CV cries about Oregon, Blount scores touchdowns. What does that have to do with Quizz? He’s the best player in the conference but it doesn’t do any good to to say CV is crying a lot and then compare him to someone who A) isn’t a duck and B) isn’t leading the league in the category I was comparing him to

TRICK OR TREAT!

Seriously though, the unis that say just “Oregon” on them are OK—those I can live with. The “Ducks” font is pretty sorry looking and the giant zero jersey absolutely floors me! My god! That has to piss a lot of duck fans off and make other delusional ones say stuff like, “Hey, if the kids like it so do I.” or “I think it looks very regal.”

Wow.

Wow.

Are we sure....

…the big zero uni isn’t some kind of Photoshop gag? I mean, the thing looks ridiculous enough as it is but what would compel its pairing with pinstripe pants? It looks like someone got dressed in the dark, or that this poor guy is suffering the effects of building model airplanes in a room with inadequate ventilation.
