Put a lid on it and let it simmer
To My Fellow Beavers,
There is absolutley nothing better than watching all of your duckfan friends and family turn green with anger and yellow with shame when the Beavs walk off the field with a win in the Civil War. Every year I get the same smack talk and worthless stats from duckfan as they try to explain how great they think they are.
I want to suggest that Beaver Nation keep a lid on their own s-talking during the next couple of days. My own private research has shown that those who spew venom and rhetoric to demean the other team usually get those words crammed right back down their throats.
There are no better examples than the 2000 & 2007 CWs. I'll never forget watching the ducks come out of Gill before facing Smith, Simonton, and Johnson already holding roses and "talkin' that jive" at the Beavers fans. I'll never forget the over-confidence and bufoonery of duckfan which quickly turned to unbridled rage and disorientation when we left Autzen with the "W".
My startegy suggests that duckfan will again be forced to eat its own turd sandwich as long as we as Beavers fans approach the game the same way as the team would. Be warned that duckfan will approach you with convoluted reasons as to why the Beavers don't stand a chance and attempt to bring you into an argument, similar to how a Rush Limbaugh listener will engage any sane person, in hopes that you equal or surpass the level of ignorance that their mind cannot let go of.
Save it for post game, than we'll really see duckfan's true colors (usually they point to basketball season at this point).
Besides, we all know which team has shown they can rise to the occassion.

I concur
I’ve kept quiet, not because I lack confidence but because it’s my nature. I’ve never liked talking smack. I don’t mind when others do, sometimes it can be downright entertaining (see: Ocho Cinco) but other times it’s just not my thing.
I don’t judge those who engage in it, but please leave me out of it. I’m looking forward to celebrating a Beaver win more than I am a duck loss.

I just want to watch a good game and chat with people about it. Smack talking is usually overrated, and doesn’t help anyone.

Exactly
Shit talking is dumb. Nobody knows who is going to win. It’s why the games are played. Let’s just get geared up for Saturday

And there are more important things to stress out over. You just gotta… rub it out.
