OSU vs. UA Second Half Open Thread
A brief history lesson: On November 8, 2008, the Oregon State Beavers found themselves tied with the UCLA Bruins 3-3 at halftime, in the Rose Bowl. During the first half of play, Building the Dam experienced a high number of comments (350) in the open thread. Noticing the influx of comments and hoping to avoid open-thread lag, Jake opened up a second half open thread. The Beavers went on to outscore the Bruins 31-3 in the second half, beating UCLA 34-6.
Let's repeat history, fellas.
No Quizz. No Lyle. (Remember, Lyle didn't play against UCLA...)
We can still do this.
FINISH!!!

Or some Oregon Flea
Flysweep to Rodgers, reverse to Sammie, reverse back to Canfield, hits Rodgers streaking down sideline for 6.
Alright time's up lez do this...
Heres to good luck...
James on the sweep all day long…..I am curious to see what Francis is all about.
I loved it when Victor just threw down Tuitama in the red zone
That was huge

Siegart got married?
You think she knows about that one night?
by AnotherBeaverFirstDown on Nov 22, 2008 5:28 PM PST reply actions
there were 4 people in the pickup that night...
Ben & his girlfriend, a buddy and his girl.
They were stealing the sheep to let it loose inside of someone’s house. Only, it didn’t end that way.
Roses are Orange.
Gronkowski has been limited so far

Same here
That FG helped immensely

Feeling better too
Canfield’s passes looked pretty sharp in the last drive
by sandiegobeav on Nov 22, 2008 5:33 PM PST up reply actions
No doubt.
if that FG had sailed wide, I would be much more worried. I think we still have enough weapons to beat Arizona. How many Pac-10 teams can sport such quality backups at the highest skill positions? Canfield and McCants are nice luxuries.
by Mallardvalue on Nov 22, 2008 5:34 PM PST up reply actions
yeah that cant be right
they had a couple runs and a mike thomas catch first down too

Does Canfield have a tat on his neck or is that low-running stubble?

--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on Nov 22, 2008 5:45 PM PST reply actions
Yeah.
I think his rest is purely precautionary. We see him in the Civil War for sure. I bet if the running game tonight stalls out, we see him back in, but with McCants doing his best Brandon Jacobs impression, things are looking good without Jacquizz.
by Mallardvalue on Nov 22, 2008 5:47 PM PST up reply actions
McCants stuffed, but still gets two.
I don’t think he was getting those two yards in the first half. That’s what we need.

Oh my Canfield
You are getting extremely lucky tonight. May you continue to get lucky all night long…. ;)

Why?

because we're up 7
and we have Riley

A few penalties, bad punt, etc.

Veggie Taco!
Track Town Pizza mmmmm. It’s like all the ingredients of a Taco, except meat, on a Pizza. We’re vegetarians.
Alright time's up lez do this...
What's up with the announcers?
Earlier they said Stroughter was dangerous as a kick returner, (when AZ was receiving), now he just said “7 minutes left in the game.”
In the second quarter or so they were reminiscing about what they said at halftime
Not sure if you guys caught that, but I got a chuckle out of it.
--JB--
by Jake Bertalotto on Nov 22, 2008 5:59 PM PST up reply actions
most likely
Hockey announcers…or they cover the other side of the states and not Pac 10 games. Either that or they are drunk. I put my money on the latter…
May we hand you your taints on a silver platter...
Versus is a MWC channel or something.

You run at the stacked box?
come on.
by AnotherBeaverFirstDown on Nov 22, 2008 6:17 PM PST reply actions
Oh jeeze
What the heck was that play call. If you’re gonna do that just punt it away.
Worst part is not giving them good field position, it’s the momentum change from a huge stop for them.
Gah, I am throwing up my hands.
Damn, I leave for 20 minutes and you guys have to go and do that?
Run another sweep. HB dive on 4th and 1 at the 50?
Alright time's up lez do this...
How about you do that every carry McCants?

I am going to lay down and die now
I had the following conversation with my wife this afternoon
Me: I am not sure if I want to listen to the Beavers game on the radio today.
Her: Why not?
Me: Because I am convinced that the Beavers are going to give me a heart attack someday, and I think that today might just be the day that it happens.
Awesome.
Congratulations.
Living vicariously, I was jumping up and down throught that entire topsy-turvy fourth quarter. Well, for m ost of it at least.
Awesome, awesome, awesome stuff.
I was right there with you
It was incredible.

Riley
What a move to let the kicker win it for him, could’ve got another play I think, but that how he wins he trusts his players.

This is a cool place, too.
Later beavs. Had a great time stopping by the dam. Fuckabuncha ducks next week, and we’ll see yas in roseland.

WOW
If that wasn’t a true showing of what kind of team we are (with our starting QB and RB out), then I don’t know WHAT is.
GO BEAVERS!
Hate to repeat myself, but oh...holy...crap....
Next week will be un-be-f**king-believable….thanks, Jake and everyone else tonight.
GO BEAVS!!!!!
For the night owls...
The team is due to arrive back at Valley Football Center around 1:30am.
Kahut
“I didn’t feel like that was supposed to be the way that our season was going to go down,” he said. “I didn’t want it to be where I lost the game for the team. They worked so hard, and we deserved that win, and I’m just so grateful for that second opportunity.”
Nice!
