Gotta Love Quizz

Usually I wouldn't do this, but this time I couldn't resist.

Went to Jacquizz's Facebook page tonight too see what kind of love he was getting from his friends. What I found was this, set as his "status". (Non-Facebookworms, click here)

Almost makes you want to cry, doesn't it?

Haha. Quizz, you're a stud.  Like your performances against Pac-10 defenses: way to not let it get to you.

Check out this awesome poster the Athletic Department made to promote Quizz for: Heisman, All American, Pac-10 Player of the Year, National Freshman of the Year, Doak Walker, and even Secretary of Touchdowns in the Obama Administration.

I haven’t seen someone so young (and talented) handle pressure this well.

He is wise beyond his years.

I think legally people should be forced to like Quizz.

“I don’t get happy, I just basically run the ball.”

Are you kidding me? Is he a robot sent from the planet Awesomerunningback?

by ArbyOSU on Nov 20, 2008 4:11 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

On one hand that would be awesome.

On the other hand, if it was illegal to dislike quizz then there would be a lot of duck fans behind bars. Can you imagine what our license plates will look like after duck fans get a hold them. Do we really want blinding yellow and green plates with wings?

by jaycb324011 on Nov 20, 2008 4:50 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I like Jacquizz. I haven’t seen anything from him that would make me dislike him. So far, winning personality, winning smile, not self-centered and he is an amazing back.

I haven't seen any Duck fans, or anyone for that matter

who dislike Quizz… where’d you get that one?

Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn Shufelt?

Well then you Duck fans must like us Beaver fans a lot more than we like you.

Because just about every Beaver fan I know hates everything yellow and green and would never praise any athlete that chose to don those nasty uniforms

by jaycb324011 on Nov 20, 2008 11:06 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Its hard not to like Quiz. Performs well on the field, class guy off of it. Just because he plays for the Beavers doesn’t mean he automatically sucks or isn’t deserving of praise. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t win Pac-10 player of the year. I’m not sure who is really even close to him at this point.

I can’t speak for Jshuf and Butthol, but I respect and admire talent, no matter what the uniform. I may not want OSU to win the civil war, but I can still be happy for Quiz’s success…against other teams. Hopefully you understand. :)

dvieria wasn’t speaking for me either, but he’s real real fast and i’d rather not have him torch our defense. but he’s a really good back.

i really like your posts jaycb. you give me a lot of information i didn’t already have, and i feel like a better person for it. so thanks.

Well then you Duck fans must like us Beaver fans a lot more than we like you.

I don’t know if it is the majority or minority, or what percentage is there, but there is a sizable group of us that actually like Oregon State. Some of the fans get under our nails, but overall, I want the greatest success for OSU save the Civil War.

It’s fun joshing back and forth, but in the end, I’d still like to walk away respecting each other. And I sincerely believe that the Civil War is a bigger rivalry for the majority of Beaver fans than Duck fans. At the very least, most pre-Harrington Duck fans.

It's spelled "S-h-u-p-o-o-p-i".

by JShufelt on Nov 21, 2008 8:22 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

At the very least, most pre-Harrington Duck fans.

Exactly

The current UO students hate Oregon State, much in the same way Oregon Staters hate the Ducks. It’s due to the recent success of both schools.pre-Harrington Duck fans know how bad both schools were and wanted the best for the state of Oregon. Now that we’ve had success, the newer Oregon fans hate us. Which is how I want it to be. I don’t know why, but I just absolutely HATE it when Oregon fans root for us.

I luv you.

Though I don’t understand the hate of having Oregon fans root on the Beavers.

It's spelled "S-h-u-p-o-o-p-i".

by JShufelt on Nov 21, 2008 10:38 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't fully understand it either, to be quite honest

But I feel it takes away from the rivalry, you know? Even when we were in the CWS, and UO didn’t have a baseball team, I got so angry when Duck fans would say “oh yeah, I was rooting for the Beavs to go all the way” Like I said, I don’t fully understand it, but it’s the way it is.

Another thing that bugs me is when Duck fans play the whole “oh we only root against you in the Civil War” They claim to be our friends. But if you actually GO to the Civil War, you can see that Duck fans and Beaver fans alike genuinely hate each other. There is nothing friendly about it. Now, this could go back to the newer Duck fans I suppose, but it just bugs me because they come onto the boards and blogs and say “oh we love the Beavs” and then all they do is talk shit about us.

But not you JShufelt, or jtlight, or JButhol. You guys are oooooooooo tay

Makes the whole argument over who scores more touchdowns a little less important when you think about stuff like that huh? Did you see the picture last year of the guys from Oregon that had their Beav/Duck flags over there with them?

There's very many ducks who illogically minimize Quizz's accomplishments

As ducks fans, that probably has more to do with their lifelong dedication to stealing legitimately earned attention than it does any sort of true dislike of Quizz.

But, they kind of go hand in hand. It’s really sad the way that so many ducks fans are like that.

Roses are Orange.

I will agree with that

Duck fans try to say Blount is better because he scores more TDs on less carries. But in games that matter, he folds.
USC: 9 carries, 0 yards, 0 TDs
Cal: 4 carries, 1 yard, 0 TDs

Not trying to diminish Blount’s accomplishments, but it appears he only does well against lesser competition. I’d take JJ any day over LGB

I, like Jared, and most any other fan with common sense

Believe TDs mean absolutely nothing.

Now, yards per carry (with a substantial sample size) is a stat I firmly believe in.

by qrsouther on Nov 21, 2008 4:43 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yup – it’s cool that Blount has a bunch of TDs – but in reality – whoopidy do.
I’m still awaiting an email, but I’m going to dive in deep with the “Beyond the Box Scores”.

More often than not, the play(s) that setup the TD are more important/impressive than the TD itself.
That’s why I <3 EqPts, PPP, S&P, and Success Rate stats. The “Sabermetrics of College Football”

And can UO players PLEASE stop talking shit until you do something of importance???

Favorite quotes this year:
LeGarrette Blount: “If that little dude can do that to SC, then me and Johnson will both get 100 against them”
JMasoli after the SC game, which the Ducks lost 44-10. 44-10 “I still think that we are the better team”
And I believe it was Johnson last week who said “Black wasn’t mean for orange” or something along those lines

That’s what annoys me

Black wasn't meant for orange...

or whatever he said. That just seems like playful shit talking to me. I think I get what you are saying…it seems like some Ducks are downplaying Beav accomplishments right? I get how that could be frustrating, but I genuinely do not see Duck fans diminishing anything that’s been accomplished. If a Duck fan does that I will be the first one to tell them to shut up and stop embarrassing themself.

You know that feeling you get in your stomach before something big is about to happen?

Things that come to mind: vacations, presentations, exams, court, etc

Well yeah, take that feeling and multiply it by 1000. My stomach is doing flip flops whenever the word Arizona comes up. See the UAB-Arizona basketball finish the other night? When ESPN was talking about Arizona I was paralyzed.

I seriously can’t focus in class right now. It sucks

Quizz-knows

I thought up a cool photoshop for someone to do. I started to do it, but then realized I didn’t want to put a bunch of time into it. It may have already been done. I saw a Quiznos commercial last night and thought it would be cool to do something like changing the Q logo to black and orange and make the words say something like “Quizz-knows Hiesman” or something like that. I leave it to a BtD’er to take if you want it.
