OSU game is on VS...

I really wish the game was on a different network. Versus has terrible college football coverage… better than radio only though.

On that note, is there any talk of the UCLA or Cal game being covered on tv? It would be a shame for the Cal game to potentially decide the pac-10 and not be televised anywhere.

TV

Game times and TV announcements come 12 days before the game.

by ConnorOSU on Oct 19, 2008 7:58 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

One hour til kickoff...

Still thinking OSU38-UW 17…

Hmmm. I had forgotten about that play where Stanback suffered the Lisfranc injury. It was amazing how Doggett absolutely shut running quarterbacks down. He was so fast… able to cover anyone one-on-one.

Alright....

here we go…..

Anyone here yet?

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:07 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Ha

Delay of game on Washington before their first play.

Sign of things to come?

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:08 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Oy...

We have to keep the false start penalties down. Can’t shoot yourself in the foot on the road…

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:18 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Hmmm.

They look fired up. OSU needs to pound it down their throats for a drive.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:25 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Wow

Quizz bursts ahead on 4th and 2. Gutsy call by Riley.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:30 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

Looked like he was having to try hard to stay in bounds on the replay. Nice tightroping.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:33 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yikes... I was against that call.

But that’s why Riley is paid the big bucks.

Niiiiiiice play by James. They thought it was Jacquizz all the way, James cut around the end and turned on the turbo.

7-3, OSU.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Another Wow

James bursts around the right side for a 50+ yard TD.

MANY great blocks

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Nicely drawn up and called.

They thought it was Jacquizz, then giving it to James with blockers on the edge.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:33 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah.

Croom had a good block, so did Morales, Remmers had a nice block pulling from his guard position, Quizz had the final one at the end.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think that is one of Quizz's best attributes.

If you look at the score at the end of the first half against Utah, Quizz had a monster block to enable the Moevao-Morales score. It was just a great block.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:36 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's why the coaches have such a hard time going to McCants

It seems like McCants would be the better blocker of the two due to his size and power, but Quizz is an excellent blocker.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:38 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ow.

Bad play for the Huskies. That’s terrible, almost a fumble.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:34 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

That guy got creamed

Sweet communication on special teams, Huskies

recruiting

its just another great testament to riley’s recruiting

by jaycb324011 on Oct 18, 2008 4:34 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah.

He develops players so well and recruits such great kids. It is an easy team to root for.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 4:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I agree

Washington does have some HUGE offensive linemen.

Seriously, you don’t see 368 pound linemen that often

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:37 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

wow

we need someone to step up and make some plays in the secondary

wow

that is crazy good timing

Good FG

Would have loved to see a TD there, but I will take 3 :)

by orangemocha on Oct 18, 2008 4:47 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Same

Remember what Serna did at Husky Stadium during her career?

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

That will piss them off

And it gives Versus the reason to play the Locker replay from last year

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 4:53 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

WTF

GO BEAVS!!!

by HAAK72 on Oct 18, 2008 5:22 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Fouch is getting destroyed

But he’s getting the ball off before he gets hit.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 5:24 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

That one hurts.

Gah… We have to get the D shored up on those deep passes. I wonder if Hughes and Lewis are suffering because of their injuries… It’s disconcerting to see so many long passes.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 5:26 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I have a new idea.

It’s called “The Rodgers Hypothesis.”

It is only possible to shut down one Rodgers brother at a time. If the defense loads up against Quizz, then James is a beast on the reverses and screens. If they try to stop James by shading their iinebackers outside, then Jacquizz gashes you up the middle.

I’m glad they play in orange and black.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 5:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

That's a good point

Quizz hasn’t been very effective…. James has.

--JB--

by Jake Bertalotto on Oct 18, 2008 5:41 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

UW has been loading up the line.

Earlier in the season, like the SC game, the backers were on the outside and James had nowhere to go. With the run support right up the middle James should continue to have a great game.

I wonder if the Huskies wiil change their strategy and start to shade their backers or a safety toward the sideline.

by Cablinasian on Oct 18, 2008 5:44 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Washington has stayed close in the 1st

But in the 2nd half they get knocked around a lot. I want to see a lot more of Quizz.

by orangemocha on Oct 18, 2008 5:29 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Looks like that's what we're going to see

But Quizz only has 31 yards. I’d like to see him pad his stats at least a little bit….

yeah

it was a “drop”

on a side note, you think Canfield will transfer?

GO BEAVS!!!

That never really crossed my mind....

I would be wary of McCants transferring before Canfield, but I dunno.

well its half way through the year and we haven’t seen him yet. and last week riley said that he was doubtful at all this season. so i assume they would redshirt him

by jaycb324011 on Oct 18, 2008 6:27 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not sure.

I thought Mike Riley said he probably won’t be able to get a medical redshirt.

With the right offensive play calling, you really gotta be strong all over the field to stop OSU. Between the fly sweep on the outside, and the Quizz on the inside… It’s a defense nightmare that can attack any part of the field.

Yup.

He was so sure of himself. And the Beavers stopped UW on the goalline to save the point spread.

Gavin is going to tear into him on Monday.

The D pulled through still. They got turnovers. Let a few big plays, but I think the D played good enough to compete against the rest of the Pac-10.

Only teams with their destiny in their own hands is OSU and Cal.
