No. 17 Oregon 70, Oregon State 49

The Beavers failed to score 50 points for the fourth time this year, shot 38%, and got beat by 21.

Story of our lives.

The Beavers had a chance until about the last 10 minutes of the first half, when the Ducks took matters into their own hands. The Beavers only got one basket in those last ten minutes-- a dunk by Marcel Jones. Meanwhile, the Ducks scored ten, and took a 33-17 lead at the half. This was the Beavers' lowest scoring first half of basketball the entire season. The Beavers showed some signs of a comeback early in the second half, scoring 12 points in three and a half minutes to pull within 11. It didn't phase the Ducks however, as they steamrolled through the rest of the second half, exciting the crowd left and right on their way to a 21 point victory.

Marcel Jones lead the Beavers with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Josh Tarver added 8, and Seth had 5. I liked what I saw out of Josh when he was driving to the basket, but he really needs to work on his perimeter shooting.

Bryce Taylor lead all scores for the Ducks with 22. Aaron Brooks had 18, and Maarty Leunen had 14.

The Ducks will play Arizona on Thursday in the Pac-10 tourney, and the Beavers will play Cal on Wednesday.

Go Beavers!
